When Do You Know You Aren't In Love Anymore?

Is it when you say, 'I hate you,' stop communicating, run around on each other, or is it because you just gave up?   There's a thin line between hate and love, so it would be something that could go either way.  Although, it's not uncommon for you to really dislike your spouse one minute and love them the next.

Communication is always important, but even then it's still possible to still love someone and not communicate as much as you once did.  Usually, it's a sign of taking each other for granted.  Sometimes all it takes is finding a new interest to do together to start you talking to one another.

Even if one spouse runs around on the other it doesn't mean they don't love you; they might just be a little bored with you, or you're not providing something they need.  A couple like this could work it out if they want to.

Giving up is the most common reason for why marriages don't last.  People get mad and they quit working at their marriage.  It's so much easier to quit on a relationship than to work at it, and I guarantee it takes work in any relationship.

There are times when you can't love someone anymore.  For instance, someone you love turns out to be abusive; it's time to get out then.  Your partner murders another person; it's time to get out.

In my new soon to be released short story, All Bets Are Off, the heroine has a gambling addiction, which nearly costs her husband his business.  Would you still love someone who did that to you?

Could you trust them again?

Thank you for reading.  Have a great week, and I'll see you next Sunday.

All about Love

I'm behind this week, so I'm posting a blog I posted elsewhere last week.  So sorry!

Valentine's Day is coming up soon, and although I'm not an authority on love I'm a romantic suspense author who writes about love.  The old saying: Love thy neighbor as you do yourself comes to mind.  Who do you love?

There are many different kinds of love. For instance, love between spouses, love between parents and their children, love between siblings, cousins, aunts and uncles, grandchildren and a whole slew of people.  I love everyone even those I don't really like because I care what happens to them.

In many cases there are varying degrees of affection for the people you care about.  Of course, you're going to love those who are the closest to you like your husband, children and other family members, but there's always room for others.

Friends come to mind for me and I have several lifelong friends.  I have great affection for them, or I wouldn't have stayed in touch with them. You can love neighbors who become friends when you have lived next to them for years.

Is it possible to love someone who hurts you?  I draw the line at loving people who abuse others physically or mentally, but I write about them in my stories.  I even humanize them with some background about them, but I can't care for them in their present lives because they chose the wrong path.  Or in my stories, the path I chose for my character.  This is when you have to care and love the victim.

I love my hubby more than anyone.  When my mother was alive it was a tossup between hubby and mom because I loved them both equally, although, in totally different ways.  My siblings and children are next in line, and then the rest of the family, friends, etc.

Who matters most to you?

Valentine's Day

Our day of love, Valentine's Day is fast approaching.  This is a time when we do special things for our loved ones.  Usually, it's a box of chocolates, a special dinner with dancing, or a movie and dinner.

Or it can be something as simple as a book where the reader can follow two characters and learn how they find their happy ever after.  The people portrayed in our books often go through real life trials and tribulations to find happiness and love.

I send out Valentine's cards to all my family and close friends.  I even send cards to all my mother's old friends and write them a little note so they know I still remember them.

All I want for Valentine's Day is a very good back rub.  For months I have been having trouble with deep tissue issues that left me in so much pain that I can't put any pressure on my right side.  First it was my left side, and I went to the physical therapist to take care of that.  This time I had my husband start rubbing and found it helped a lot.  Yep, I'll take a back rub and anything else he wants to treat me to.  Chocolate covered nuts???  Grin!  Get your mind out of the gutter guys.

My publisher is having a sale of all their books at Coffee Time Romance if you would like to take a browse through to see if there is something you would like for Valentine's Day.

All of Eirelander Publishing's catalog is 30% off at the Coffee Time Romance Store!
