Update On Cataract Surgery

Hi Everyone,

One of these days everything is going to get back to normal, but not quite yet.  My right eye has healed very well, and my left eye is healing.  Am I happy with the outcome?  Yes, I am.

Will I have to wear glasses?  Yes, I will still wear glasses all the time.  Instead of trifocals, I will wear bifocals.  I knew this could happen, and it doesn't bother me.  Glasses don't have the stigmatism that they used to have, and I'm used to wearing them.

My optometrist, Dr. Queen, would tell me as a kid that I was very lucky to be born in my time period, or I would have been a blind little bird.  I believed him and was always grateful even though I had to wear glasses as thick as coke bottles back then.

In a few weeks, after my left eye has completely healed, my ophthalmologist will give me a prescription for glasses.  Once that happens, I'll be posting more interesting blogs.  I have many topics that I want to write about.  Grin!  Some of them will be controversial as usual.

Have a great week.

I know how you feel Sandra. I have had cataract surgery in both eyes. Right eye was done over 2 yrs ago and my left eye was done a few months ago. Both have healed well and I'm so glad to be able to read clearly again. It was very frustrating when I couldn't be on the computer for long or read books. Nice to see you are doing well. :))I still wear my reading glasses only.

I had my cataract surgery last year, Sandy. I no longer need glasses, but I'm sure that will change with time. Any improvement seems great to me.

Hi Trisha,
I'm so glad to hear you did well with your cataract surgery. I was hoping I would only need reading glasses, too, but isn't the case.

Hi Miriam,

As soon as I get my glasses, I'll be fine. This is a very easy surgery, Miriam, so there isn't any reason to worry.

Gerri,

I'll be glad just to have bifocals instead of trifocals.

Thanks to all of you for stopping and your supportive comments.

Toby, thank you for your comment. I visited your website on cataracts and found it very informative. My doctor gave me antibiotic, anti-inflamatory and steroid eyedrops to take. My last appointment with her was this past week, but I have a followup in 4 months to make sure everything is still okay.
