Are You and Your Spouse on the Same Schedule?

Years ago when we first married, my spouse and I spent all of our time together.  We worked at the same place, and had the same hours.  We were seldom separated from one another.

As we aged, my hubby required less sleep and I found it necessary to get more rest.  I’ve always needed more siesta time.  My husband used to sleep as much as me, but with age he can’t.

Now, he goes to bed by 8 or 9 at night, and I’m never in bed before 10:30 p.m. and sometimes much later.  He’s usually up between four and six in the morning, and I get up at seven thirty most days, unless I stay up very late.

My hubby likes to be on the go all the time and he wants me to go with him.  Since, I’m an author I want to stay home and write.  We compromise so both of us get what we want some of the time but not always.

What differences in your schedule do you have to work out with your spouse?

I don't think I've ever been tuned in time with anyone but myself lol. Compromise is good Sandy. :)

Sleep schedules are different, but we manage to spend time together since our computers are now in the same room.
Having different hobbies gives us "alone" space, and everyone needs some of that.
We "bond" doing financial stuff and have hobbies we both participate in.
The key is compromising and having quality time together...and apart!

Hubby and I are different. He's an early riser and requires less sleep. Like you, Sandy, I require more, or think I do anyway. But, we spend plenty of time together.

My husband works a lot of late hours, so I find that I begin my work day at home about the time he leaves the house.
But yes, I require much more sleep that he does.

Thank you, B.K. Compromise is good, but it takes a lot of time. Smile.

I agree with you Marianne. Compromise is key. We do have a lot of things we do together.

Linda, it does sound like we're a lot alike. Grin.

Thanks, Diana. I think most women require more sleep than men.
