Sometimes Life Throws You a Scare

Hi Everyone,

Over a week ago, my husband had a colonoscopy done.  A spot was found, and the doctor took multiple biopsies.  In face, he nearly scraped the whole thing off.  It was scary for us because the doctor said it could be colon cancer, or it might be an ulcer.  The doctor took hubby off of aspirins in case it was an ulcer.

The doctor wanted a closer look at the area, so he ordered a CT scan with dye.  This showed a spot on his lung, but we aren't too worried about it.  This week, we found out the biopsy came back negative.  We were thrilled to learn it wasn't cancer.  He does have to have another colonscopy in a couple months to make sure he has healed inside.

Thank you for listening to my story.  I just had to share because it ended so well.

So glad to hear it all worked out! Life does sometimes throw you a scare. Makes us remember how much we care about the people in our lives and to be sure to let them know.

Thank you for coming by, Beverly. Yes, it does remind us to let our loved ones know how much they mean to us.

Glad that's over for you! Why I'm afraid to see the doctor is because of stuff like that!

Thanks, K.T. It's better to be safe than sorry, my friend.

Sandra, so glad he's doing well. I've had many health scares in my time. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in November of 2009. But I'm past that hurdle now, thank God. It was small and we caught it fast!

Another major scare was when I had a bad reaction to a medication when my son was a week old. I ended up in cardiac care over night. Horrible!

Dellani, so glad to hear from you.
I'm curious to know what med you had a reaction to. It's great the doctor caught your breast cancer early.

Thank you for leaving a comment.

Sandy, I'm so happy for you and your hubby that everything is all right.

Scares like this make us appreciate life even more than usual. We're coming into the holiday season, and I'm guessing it will make it even more special.

Thank you, Edie. You're right, our holiday season will be extra special this year.

So glad the biopsy came back negative, Sandy. Will they be checking up on the spot on the lung?

Sandy said...

Thanks, Edie. I am too.

Thanks, Linda. We can't let His Ronness get sick. Yes, they will check the spot on the lung, but I believe he's had it for a while.

Sandy, so glad for your good outcome. A few years ago my sister in law was feeling awful. They tested for everything and thought it might be Lupus. We were all so scared until they finally discovered it was HPV, a virus, very curable, that she probably picked up on a shopping cart handle. We all gave a big sigh of relief.

So glad to hear everything went well, Sandy. Life throws you curve balls, and we just have to keep swinging at them - sometimes we miss and sometimes we hit a homerun.
