Happy Birthday To Me

It's party time, and I'm celebrating to be alive.  LOL
June is the month I was born, and since I'm turning the big 7 0 tomorrow I'm going to tell you about the events that happen in June.  For one thing, this is the month when the most weddings are traditionally held.  The flower for June is the white, or cream-colored rose, and the pearl is the birthstone.

This period was named after Juno, the Roman Goddess.  Also, the sign for June is Gemini until June 21, and then it's Cancer.  Some of the holidays in this month are June 6 when we fly flags for D Day, June 14 is Flag Day, June 15 is Father's Day and Litha known as the summer solstice is 20 through 21st.

I bet you didn't know this is National Dairy month.  I didn't either.  Also, it is Paul Bunyan month and several others I've never heard of.

Since, I'm celebrating my birthday this month; I'm going to give some lucky commenter a chance to select one of my e-books by selecting the book they want from my website.  http://www.skaymarshall.com

Thank you for celebrating my birthday with me.  Have a great week, and I'll see you next Sunday.

Do You Remember When Flight Attendants Wore These Uniforms?

I looked at this video with flight attendant uniforms, and to be honest there were a lot of uniforms I didn't recognize.  So, I'm posting the video for everyone to look at, and the person who is familiar with the most outfits worn by stewardesses will win a prize: a bag of print books, but none will be mine.

Just leave a comment giving me the number of uniforms you remember, and the one with the highest quantity will win.  Go to:  http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/lifestyle/2013/08/fab-flight-attendant-flashback/

Have fun folks.  I'll be looking forward to hearing from you.

Thank you for reading my blog, and I hope your week is fantastic.  I'll see you next Sunday.

Best always,

Happy Holidays

Good morning,

Before I can forget I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, or whatever holiday you celebrate.  In my family, we celebrate the  birth of Jesus, the christ child.  Yes, I know the date may be wrong, but everyone needs a set day to celebrate, so for us it's December 25th.

Next, I want to announce the lucky commenter who won the prize for commenting on my last blog.  This is totally unbelievable since the winner is a neighbor.  In all the years I've blogged and had contests I have never had anyone in my neighborhood win a prize.  Congratulations, Diana LM.  I'll be dropping by sometime during the week to drop it off.  Smile!  For those who don't know Diana, she writes a blog at MoJo Travel, and all you have to do is click on her name and it will take you to her blog.  Diana and her husband work together, she writes travel articles and he's a photographer.

Now, I want to address the evil in Newtown, CT., and what a sad event occurred.  We will be hearing about these killings for a long time in the news, so I won't say a lot.  Hugs and blessings go out to all the people involved.  It will be a long time before we are able to get over this event and for the families the tragedy will always be with them.  We ask why these things like these happen, but there is no clear cut answer.  We aren't the judges here, and we can only pray for all involved.  Hug your children and hold them closer to you.  We can only do so much to protect them in our present world.

I need a short break from my blog because I'm behind in all things.  Smile!  In order to catch up, I won't be blogging again until Sunday, January 6, 2013!

May all you have a better year ahead. I won't say Happy New Year because it would sound like a travesty to those who have lost so much at this holiday season.

See you in the new year.

Sincerely,
Sandra K. Marshall
