First, I must apologize for not posting a new blog last
Sunday. Long story short, we had trouble
with our washer and had to get a new one before company came this weekend, and
then we had trouble getting it.
Next, I want to wish everyone a safe Memorial Day weekend as
we remember our loved ones and our military that have past on. I know we'll be visiting our cemeteries this
weekend to place flowers on the graves of our family members.
I want to talk about letters versus email. When I was a kid I was taught to write thank
you notes to everyone who did or gave me anything. At a later age, I started writing letters to
friends and family who were not nearby, and I wrote to guys in the
military.
All these people told me I wrote the best letters because I entertained
them. I tried not to write boring stuff
even when I was writing about day to day life.
I made my letters sound like stories, and I loved to write them.
Emails are fast and some of my friends can make them wordy
(sorry, Beppie, I just had to say it) and very entertaining. Most are brief and to the point. I don't even like writing an email, but I do. I don't like talking on the telephone
either. Grin!
I always saved important letters, birthday cards and other special cards from friends and family. I need to empty a few drawers. lol To me a real letter is much more personal than an email.
Do you prefer letters or an email you can just delete?
See you next Sunday!
